I am looking for a digital slr camera that can also shoot movies. I have heard greta things about the Nikon D90 but this is a little above my price bracket. Can anyone suggest any digital slr that shoots HD movie – that is cheaper than the d90? Also preferably it should have an external microphone slot…

Does it pick up good audio when filming?
@Spetznaz lol
The biggest pro to a micro four thirds system should be obvious- it's much lighter and smaller than any dslr system. This allows you to shoot more discretely, and is a huge plus if you shoot candids or do street photography of any sort. However, in flat-out performance wise, the micro four thirds does have comparable image quality and speed to beginner dslrs, but loses to the more expensive enthusiast/professional dslrs.
Personally, I think the micro four thirds system is off to a fairly good start. I would like to see more lenses in the future though, especially faster portrait lenses. If you dont do a whole lot of sports or wildlife, a micro four thirds is a great system to own and use and will surely expand in the future.
All my old manual focus Canon and Pentax lenses have just been raised from the dead. Fotodiox makes adapters for all these lenses for this micro 4/3 system. This is the biggest camera design change I have seen. Talk about versatility.
amazing, panasonic coming back with a vengence
“tutch” screen
wtf?
@Spetznaz are you asking if its a film or digital camera? really?
film, kodachrome only
it uses a memory card or film roll?
This will be the system of the future, only the purist will stick at the conventional mirrorreflex cams. I for one will be happy to replace mine for one of these camera’s once more glass is available (like a 400mm for instance). Just think about following a bird in flight but not having to worry about going out of focus? Bloody brilliant if ya ask me!
